Christian Gottlob was born on October 5th, 1796 in Oelsnitz, Vogtlandkreis, Sachsen. Christian Gottlob's father was Gordian Zorn and his mother was Christiane Dorothea Frank. His paternal grandparents were Johannes Zorn and Magdalena Mendler. He had three brothers and a sister, named Johann Friedrich, Carl August, Christina Sophie and Johanna Magdalena. He was the youngest of the five children.-
