Klara was born on November 15th, 1917 in Elsenz, Baden, Germany. Klara's father was Karl Friedrich Kesel and her mother was Anna Maria Ficht. Her paternal grandfather was Franz Kesel. She had four brothers and four sisters, named Karl, Franz, Anton, August, Anna Maria, Ottilia, Maria and Kordula Zäzilia. She was the second youngest of the nine children.-
