Central New Yorker John J, Kesel, a junior at Lemoyne College, died in the crash at the end of a training exercise November 6, 1955.
His 8-ton jet vanished in 70 feet of water and 10 feet of mud about mid-point in Onondaga Lake, off Lakeview Point on the west shore. The young officers body was recovered and buried in a family lot at Assumption Cemetary.
